Vietnam's manufacturing activity grows year-on-year, Sri Lanka, India's textile and garment exports continue to decline

On March 1, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in February, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) was 52.6, an increase of 2.5 percentage points from the previous month, which was higher than the critical point. All sub-indexes were higher than the previous month. Eighteen of the 21 industries surveyed were in the expansion range, an increase of 7 from the previous month, and the manufacturing boom continued to expand.

From January to February, China's clothing exports were 21.68 billion US dollars, down 14.7 percent from the same period last year.

According to the latest statistical data released by the General Administration of Customs, from January to February this year, China's textile and clothing exports were 40.84 billion billion US dollars, down 18.5 per cent from the same period last year (down 11.6 per cent in RMB terms). Among them, textile exports were 19.16 billion US dollars, down 22.4 per cent year-on-year (15.9 per cent year-on-year in RMB terms), while clothing exports were 21.68 billion US dollars, down 14.7 per cent year-on-year (7.5 per cent year-on-year in RMB terms).

Up 25% YoY, Chinese sewing machines sell well in Latin America

Latin America is the American region south of the United States, including Central America, the West Indies and South America, including Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and other countries, with a total population of about 0.65 billion. Latin America has a vast territory and is rich in mineral, water conservancy, agricultural and other resources. Most countries have a single economic structure and an imperfect industrial system. Sewing machinery and other professional equipment basically rely on imports from Asia and Europe. In 2022, the economic recovery of Latin America led to the rapid growth of market demand for sewing machinery products. The Latin American market surpassed Europe and became my country's second largest sewing machinery product sales market after Asia.

Import and export of sewing equipment in Turkey in the first three quarters of 2022

Turkey has a long history of textile and garment production, and is adjacent to the EU consumer market. It has a superior geographical location and a huge demand for sewing equipment. It is one of the main export markets for sewing equipment in China. According to the forecast of the World Monetary Fund (IMF), Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) will grow by 5% in 2022, and the market development prospects are relatively broad.

On November 16, 2022, the "China (Henan)-Belgium Lab-grown Diamond Business Seminar" jointly organized by the Superhard Materials Branch of China Machine Tool Industry Association, TusBrussels Science and Technology Park in Belgium, Zhengzhou Technology Exchange Market and Henan Yellow River Cyclone Co., Ltd. was held online. The main topic of this meeting is: strengthening the exchange of China-Belgium lab-grown diamond industry and the discussion of industrial cooperation. The meeting was presided over by Sun Zhaoda, Secretary General of the Superhard Materials Branch.
