Zhongcai Artificial Crystal Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Crystal Institute) is affiliated with China National Building Materials Group Co., Ltd. Its predecessor was the Non Metallic Mineral Research Institute of the Ministry of Building Materials Industry, established in 1963. The registered capital of the company is 221.25 million yuan, mainly engaged in research, development, and industrial operation of artificially synthesized crystal materials, advanced functional composite materials, superhard materials and products.
The Crystal Institute has a technical talent team with national level experts as the core, and has strong technological development capabilities. The preparation technologies of nonlinear optical crystals, infrared optical crystals, scintillation crystals, microcrystalline glass ceramics, transparent ceramics, and catalyst alloy powders for synthetic diamond have reached international leading, advanced, or domestic leading levels, respectively. The Crystal Institute has undertaken hundreds of national scientific and technological research projects, the National "863" Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and other scientific research projects, and is responsible for drafting nearly a hundred national and industry standards. We have won nearly a hundred awards at or above the ministerial level, including two first prizes and five second prizes for national scientific and technological progress, as well as two DuPont Science and Technology Innovation Awards. We also possess dozens of domestic and foreign patents.
The Crystal Institute is responsible for the publication and distribution of the Chinese core journals "Journal of Artificial Crystals" and "Bulletin of Ceramics"; It is one of the 100 innovative pilot enterprises in Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park and one of the first pilot enterprises in Zhongguancun Standardization Demonstration Zone; The Secretariat of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Artificial Lens and the Secretariat of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Stone are also affiliated with the Company.
The main products of the Crystal Institute currently include: catalyst alloy powder and composite powder for artificial synthesis of diamond, hot pressed magnesium fluoride products, hot pressed zinc sulfide products, CVD zinc sulfide products, CVD zinc selenide products, silicon nitride ceramic products, machinable ceramic products, ultra-low expansion microcrystalline glass products, sodium iodide (thallium doped) scintillation crystals, fused mica ceramic products, etc.
